REQUIREMENTS:

  • Oversees accounting functions on a day-to-day basis including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, procurement, and general ledger accounting
  • Keep management informed of trends, problems, practices, employment legislation, and other financial issues
  • Assists the COO and CEO with preparation and completion of the fiscal year budgeting process, and develops forecasts/reforecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance
  • Oversees the third-party preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Prepares the monthly management financial reporting package, with variance analysis
  • Coordinates the creation of periodic Board of Directors reporting packages
  • Manages the annual financial audit process performed by our independent CPA firm
  • Develops, analyzes, documents, and implements internal controls
  • Seeks opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting procedures to comply with GAAP
  • Ensures that local, state, and federal tax compliance and reporting is completed
  • Manages debt covenant  reporting
  • Manages projects and initiatives as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a BS
  • Must have 2+ years in the Healthcare arena i.e nursing home, hospital, hospice, outpatient, or adult daycare facility
  • 1199 Experience
  • GAAP - 2-year minimum
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Good knowledge of accounting software
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • BS or MS in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA not required
  • Medicaid billing experience is a MUST
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office user
